Primary Research

Here is a link to a Domestic Abuse Survey I created as a result of Primary Research:  https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/CQZPQLF

The images below analyse the results...

As you can see there are a variety of different results. I asked a mixed age range of society to take part in this Survey as I did not want my results to be biased. I also asked a friend who took part in my Survey, to expand more on what happened and what was involved in her abusive relationship.

My Friend Ella's Definition and experience of Domestic Abuse- "In 2018 I was a victim of Domestic Abuse, it can happen to anyone physically and mentally. Different forms of abuse involve: Name-calling, Body Shaming, Threatening and Manipulating as well as physically Hitting, Pushing, Punching or Kicking someone. My abuser used to blame me for everything that ever went wrong, I constantly felt as though any argument that took place was always my fault when in reality it wasn’t at all. Abusers have a way of manipulating you into believing they are the best person in your life to make you stay with them. It is so hard to escape an abusive relationship, which is why it needs to be spoken about more. From my own personal experiences I have learnt that it is so important to put yourself first, always do what is best for your mental health."

Another friend of mine finally built up the courage to share her story on Facebook. The images below confess her story...

#mentalhealthmatters

It is incredibly important to speak out. Demi was extremely brave as it can be very hard for some people to speak out. Telling someone how you feel is so much better than keeping your emotions to yourself and bottling up your feelings. There are many helplines, counsellors, family friends and literally anyone who can help you get through Domestic Abuse, you are never alone.
