Personal Development

As a Filmmaker, it is just as important to record the journey and process of how your idea comes together, as it is to create the film itself! Pre-production planning material such as: Scripts, Treatments, Storyboards, Risk Assessments and Location Reports are essential in the film-making process. I have created a Reflective Journal that will represent my Journey to creating the film ‘Trapped in Silence’ with the help of Peer Review. Below is a preview of some notes I have written, I have used the app 'Cam Scanner' to make my notes look more professional.

  • LinkedIn

LinkedIn

  • LinkedIn

LinkedIn is a Social Network that focuses on professional networking and career development. ‘Mark White’ a LinkedIn professional, presented a very useful talk on zoom, about how to create a competent profile that would attract business owners. From this I managed to take lots of helpful notes which I have specified below.

  • Always write in first person, whether you are forming your biography or sending an email/message. This makes you look more professional and presentable as you are talking about yourself.

  • Use LinkedIn to search for any job in any industry. Reach out to others and make connections.

  • Make yourself look visible on your page, present yourself in a professional manner. Make sure images and language used are appropriate.

  • Images grab attention. Add slide decks, activities, presentations, videos, links and whatever you think is suitable for your profile.

  • LinkedIn is very different to Facebook so do not get the two social media platforms confused. Facebook is less professional.

  • Demonstrate your work, show off your skills and strengths.
